New Hotness vs Old & Busted

I’ve been without a computer for two weeks.πŸ˜₯

My old one no longer supported updates needed to run my photo editing software or my internet browser.πŸ˜₯

So, my handsome IT guy 😍 enthusiastically started out with a plan of simply installing more memory.

He quickly learned my old computer could not accommodate more memory which meant I needed a whole new computer. 😩

After much investigation, comparison shopping and soul searching, I now have a brand new computer with lots of memory and the newest updated photograph editing software. 😊

Eager to get back behind my keyboard and camera over the weekend, I quickly grew frustrated, weary and overwhelmed by all the newest and hottest updates of the technology in my new editing software and internet browser.

Icons where changed.

Buttons removed.

Extra (stupid) steps added and blah blah blah. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

I could not do what I wanted to do without going through new tutorials.

And, then . . .

. . . NOT even understanding the new tutorials!

It was as if “they” where talking in a new language!

I’m gobsmacked by how much technology and terminology has changed in FIVE short years. πŸ€ͺ

New Hotness Old & Busted

I don’t mind learning new things but, for heavens sake, the new hotness must have compassion for those of us, like me, that seemingly are “old and busted” and cannot quite grasp the new hotness.

  1. Congrats on the new comp and all the very best getting accustomed to all the new tech. I like that quote by Billy Cox. Such a great statement of where tech should be in our lives.

  2. It’s true. Whenever I get new tech I’m so anxious to get back to where I left off just so I can start DOING my thing again, it causes anxiety and frustration having to get re-familiarized and starting from scratch. Blah.

Stay with it. Take your time. Looking forward to what you’re developing next!
