A Squirrel proof feeder came across my Pinterest feed when I was taking a break from yard work.
I was intrigued.
While this sounded like the perfect solution to keep squirrels from gobbling up all the bird food, some customers did not agree.
One customer praised it’s attributes . . .“five stars for a well constructed quality ground feeder” but suggests taking off the squirrel proof claim.
Another customer was happy that this feeder keeps out the “bully birds” but the squirrel could easily slip right in for a feast. After customer made some modifications by hanging the feeder and adding a baffle, the caged feeder is now squirrel proof!
While this customer said the feeder is not squirrel proof, the feeder does protect squirrel from hawks.
Good point!
This review is a little worrisome.
While the feeder is very sturdy, it appears that squirrel needed to be rescued from this one because squirrel got stuck and needed to be cut out of the cage wire.
This customer’s review sold me!
Not only is the feeder not squirrel proof, every squirrel in the neighborhood visits the feeder providing hours of entertainment for the cat! 😂
