Due to the rain and high humidity, the weeds have taken over.

I’m reading a lot about common weeds.
Why?
Because they are everywhere!
I’ve learned their names too: Purslane, Yellow Wood Sorel (also known as sour grass)and Spotted Spurge.
Apparently, weeds can tell you about the nature of the soil.
Our soil seems to be high in phosphorus low in calcium.
Not only can weeds tell you about your soil condition, some weeds are edible and are beneficial to us humans.
More information about the benefits of weeds:
I don’t think I will be making any Purslane Salad, Dandelion Wine or salves anytime soon but this information is good to know.
In the mean time I’ll be pulling these suckers up and throwing them in my compost pile.
