I need extra hours in the day and extra energy to complete all that needs done. Planting Mowing and weeding Weeding and mowing Soccer Baseball Each and every day, I wake up, thank goodness, and seize the day clay! Oh yeah . . . ...and laundry!
Life in April
Spring has sprung! 100 pounds of clay! Playing in the mud, indoors, of course! Still a bit too chilly for the back porch. I am making bowls using slabs of clay draped over a mold. Finishing the rims of these three bowls while enjoying while enjoying a cup of coffee in a handmade mug 😉Next,... Continue Reading →
Onward
Oh my! A new year! I'm almost afraid to ask the cosmos . . . "Now what?" So, I will not ask. Instead, I will turn my attention to my list of things "To Do" before spring. Top on my list is to sort through all the extra things we have acquired due to my... Continue Reading →
Squirrel!
Would you look at that! It's mid-October. And here I am running around like a squirrel gathering nuts before the snow falls! Instead of gathering nuts . . . I'm glazing and firing. Glazing and firing. Repeat. Mugs, after their 1st firing, waiting to be glazed. Glazed mugs drying. When I'm not glazing and firing,... Continue Reading →

Update: And Then There Were Three
The three cats are growing used to their new home so much so they have taken to venturing outside. The ginger cat has always been an indoor lap cat. King of his domain not sharing his human, food and space with other cats. Now look at him (photo in slideshow below)! All brave and outside,... Continue Reading →
And Then There Were Three
We have had many cats through the years. Five over the past 30 years. When Miss Kitty passed away in October, I was done with cats and gave away all of our cat things. The cosmos laughed and laughed. Meet the newest additions to our empty nest . . . Yes, that's three cats. THREE!... Continue Reading →
Happy Groundhog Day!
Our resident groundhog, or something, never made an appearance today due to abundant snow and sunshine. But official word from Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania is we will have six more weeks of winter. Punxsutawney, PA – This morning, Pennsylvania’s own world-famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter. https://dced.pa.gov/newsroom/punxsutawney-phil-predicts-six-more-weeks-of-winter-for-2021/ Six more... Nothing Loved is Ever Lost
2020 has sucked. It has really sucked. I lost my mom in June. Lost my mother in-law in September. And this week we lost Miss Kitty who was 20 years young. “The earth will never be the same againRock, water, tree, iron, share this greifAs distant stars participate in the pain. A candle snuffed, a... Continue Reading →
Whoa Monday
This is not the post I had in mind for today but it's Monday so . . . I overslept. I woke up to husband having video conference with his work colleagues at the kitchen table. (He's been working from home since the Mid-March covid virus outbreak.) This meant I had to make my power... Continue Reading →
Behind the Scenes of a Part Time Potter
Today was glazing day. And laundry day. Glazing and laundry on the same day? What could go wrong? I shouldn't ask. It is still 2020 after all! While eating lunch, I noticed a young Robin drinking from one of Miss Kitty's handmade water bowls. It is nice see other critters enjoying a drink from my... Continue Reading →

You Can Lead a Cat to Water
The back porch has a half dozen handmade pet dishes filled to the brim with cool fresh water. I made them just for her, Miss Kitty. She prefers drinking from the Tonka dump truck. It used to be our son's now it's our grandson's Miss Kitty's. So, I keep it filled with cool fresh water.... Continue Reading →
Sunflowers Maybe
Who doesn't love sunflowers? Creatures big and small love sunflowers! I started planting sunflowers early spring all to have a creature eat every last sunflower seed! I suspect a squirrel. Photo by Juhasz Imre on Pexels.com I planted another round sunflower seeds. Thrilled to see them sprout to six to twelve inches in height! Yeah!... Continue Reading →
Where The Wild Things Are Part II
Life has completely turned upside down since the changing of the clocks back in March of 2020. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the dinosaurs returned. Today, the dinosaurs have, indeed, returned much to our grandson's delight! I am delighted the dinosaurs prefer lettuce over sunflowers!
I Can’t Hear You
I have a love hate relationship with the face-mask. Mostly hate. My Mom is hearing impaired. She reads lips. Due to her declining health, she is in hospice care. Everyone must wear a mask because of the virus. Mom cannot hear people who wear masks. Those who lip read like my Mom watch the whole... Continue Reading →
UPDATE
While technology continues not to be my friend, I continue to shoot and throw things! The good news is that the company we sent our external hard drive too expects to be able to retrieve our data with 78% certainty in which my photos are HIGH priority, 78% doesn't sound too optimistic but I am... Technical Difficulties Continue . . .
. . .but the house is CLEAN! I'd take a picture but I am unable to share so what's the point. It all started when the computer decided to "reformat" the external hard drive. My IT guy (a.k.a my husband) has not been able to undo what the computer decided to do PLUS the external... Continue Reading →
Enough Rain
At last, the sun shines today! The forecast, however, is calling for MORE RAIN over the next 10 days! Sigh. I'm growing tired of grey days and rain.
A View From My Back Porch
I usually don't complain about the weather unless it is cold. I do not like being cold. If it is below 70 degrees, that's it. I'm complaining. This spring, however, I find myself complaining about the lack of sun light. Over the winter, I yearned for bright spring sunny days but so far we have... Continue Reading →
Hooray! It’s Today!
Happy New Year!
A new week!
A new day!
Hooray!
I made no New Year’s resolutions. In fact, a long time ago I resolved not to make New Year’s resolutions. Instead I decided to make daily resolutions or, as some may call them, daily affirmations. Daily resolutions are much less daunting. The intent is for the day rather than for a WHOLE year. Think about that . . .a WHOLE year. That is 365 days!
I do set long term goals such as eating healthier, exercising more, getting more sleep and not swearing (as much) but these goals need tweaking through the year because, as we all know, LIFE happens – circumstances beyond our control; so daily resolutions can be tweaked to suit fluid life situations.
Tweaking daily resolutions requires learning how to forgive yourself when a resolution has not been met. It is far too easy to fall into…
