I have a glitch between WordPress and Gravatar. The glitch prevents me from commenting on fellow WordPress blogger's posts. I've scoured the bowels of the inter webs for a solution. Nothing. I've reached out to Word Press for a solution. Nothing. Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com As I was reading a blog post from... Continue Reading →

Cat Mayhem
Full moon April 2021. All known cat behavior and schedules flew out the window into the cool spring time air. Midnight ended up with a urinary tract infection. He stopped drinking and eating and was very lethargic all of which was upsetting for Boo. After calling seven vets on a Monday morning, we finally were... Continue Reading →
Update: And Then There Were Three
The three cats are growing used to their new home so much so they have taken to venturing outside. The ginger cat has always been an indoor lap cat. King of his domain not sharing his human, food and space with other cats. Now look at him (photo in slideshow below)! All brave and outside,... Continue Reading →
A View from My Back Porch Studio
Soaking up the sun on our back porch. Why, yes. I made the mug! 😉 Test tiles waiting to be fired then glazed and fired again. I feel like somebody is watching me! This is Midnight. He is the Semi-feral cat we adopted. He seems to be adjusting very well and has become the most... Continue Reading →
Spring Forward
The snow has melted. Temperatures on the rise. Dusted off my tool box. Unearthed my clay. Started some slab work. From a ball of clay to a slab of clay then onto the hump mold. Bowls made from a slab of clay air drying. Resting.
A Meeting of The Cats or Not
As you may know, we adopted my mother-in-law's cats in January. It has been quite a challenge. Each cat is very peculiar. Meet Sweetie Indoor lap cat. From what I can glean from mother in law's photos, Sweetie is about 12 or 13 years old. Very accustomed to living as sole house cat in charge.... Continue Reading →
And Then There Were Three
We have had many cats through the years. Five over the past 30 years. When Miss Kitty passed away in October, I was done with cats and gave away all of our cat things. The cosmos laughed and laughed. Meet the newest additions to our empty nest . . . Yes, that's three cats. THREE!... Continue Reading →

Nothing Loved is Ever Lost
2020 has sucked. It has really sucked. I lost my mom in June. Lost my mother in-law in September. And this week we lost Miss Kitty who was 20 years young. “The earth will never be the same againRock, water, tree, iron, share this greifAs distant stars participate in the pain. Whoa Monday
This is not the post I had in mind for today but it's Monday so . . . I overslept. I woke up to husband having video conference with his work colleagues at the kitchen table. (He's been working from home since the Mid-March covid virus outbreak.) This meant I had to make my power... Continue Reading →
Behind the Scenes of a Part Time Potter
Today was glazing day. And laundry day. Glazing and laundry on the same day? What could go wrong? I shouldn't ask. It is still 2020 after all! While eating lunch, I noticed a young Robin drinking from one of Miss Kitty's handmade water bowls. It is nice see other critters enjoying a drink from my... Continue Reading →

You Can Lead a Cat to Water
The back porch has a half dozen handmade pet dishes filled to the brim with cool fresh water. I made them just for her, Miss Kitty. She prefers drinking from the Tonka dump truck. It used to be our son's now it's our grandson's Miss Kitty's. So, I keep it filled with cool fresh water.... Continue Reading →
What did I do on my summer vacation?
Originally posted in September 2018! Not much has changed in our backyard. We are a little older and hopefully a little wiser. Summer vacation? Well, I really didn't have one but I sure enjoyed my summer! I enjoy summer, vacation or not. Summer is my favorite season! Being on our back porch throwing things,... Continue Reading →
Ta-dah!
The sunflowers made it despite the critters of early spring and summer. This pot houses my 3rd round of sunflowers. I decided not to transplant them to the back yardand keep them close to my back porch. Glorious results! Close up of the potted sun flowers next to the back porch. Such a sunny delight!... Social Media, Mobile Phones and Glasses
Facebook. Twitter. Instagram. I'm finding the whole social media thing overwhelming. I can't seem to keep up. I started this blog to promote my business as a potter. Then I started a facebook page followed opening an instagram account. Blogging and facebook I can do from my desk top. Yeah! Instagram, not so much. Boo!... Continue Reading →
Where The Wild Things Are Part III
I spent the day weeding yesterday. Wore myself out and ended up going to bed rather early. I woke up to an array of wild life this morning! A praying mantis hanging from a sunflower bloom munching on a wasp. A very hungry caterpillar feasting on what is left of dill. Luckily, I harvested the... Continue Reading →
On Writing
Writers make writing look so easy. Is writing as difficult for them as it is me? I'm certainly not an avid writer but I do write: journals, letters, notes, lists. I seem to be more of a lister than a writer. I have many lists of things I want to write about. The problem is... Continue Reading →
Sunflowers Maybe
Who doesn't love sunflowers? Creatures big and small love sunflowers! I started planting sunflowers early spring all to have a creature eat every last sunflower seed! I suspect a squirrel. Photo by Juhasz Imre on Pexels.com I planted another round sunflower seeds. Thrilled to see them sprout to six to twelve inches in height! Yeah!... Continue Reading →
Where The Wild Things Are Part II
Life has completely turned upside down since the changing of the clocks back in March of 2020. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the dinosaurs returned. Today, the dinosaurs have, indeed, returned much to our grandson's delight! I am delighted the dinosaurs prefer lettuce over sunflowers!
